Galerie Ron Mandos would like to congratulate Esiri Erheriene-Essi on winning this prestigious award!
Every year Her Royal Majesty the Queen of the Netherlands hands out the Royal Award for Painting . This prestigious award was first held by King Willem the 3rd in 1871 and is intended to encourage young talent in the area of painting. Queen Emma, Queen Wilhelmina and now Queen Beatrix have carried on this tradition until today. The annual exhibition held in conjunction with this prize is located in the Royal Palace in Amsterdam and showcases work from talented young artists. A selection of this year´s nominees, including the work of winner Esiri Erheriene-Essi will be shown in the galleries surrounding the ‘Burgerzaal’ (Citizen’s Chamber).
Esiri Erheriene-Essi recently graduated from the highly regarded post graduate residency De Ateliers in Amsterdam. In 2006 she finished a master in Fine Arts at the University of East London, after completing her bachelor in Media Studies at the same university. Her work has been exhibited in several galleries in London and Amsterdam.
